This week we have had some weird and wonderful entries but also some great Pub Sheds, which for our 18th year of Shed of the year is not unexpected.
Entry for Shed of the year closes on May 31st 2024
The other week I launched a call for help, to move to a faster and modern web server for shed of the year, plus I want to move the 36,350 photos of sheds into the cloud at some point so it’s faster for all of you.
So many thanks to the sheddies who have shown their support already.

Totoro house - Unexpected/Unique - Hertfordshire #shedoftheyear owned by Sheddie Daniele de Paola
"Since I needed a gardening tool shed, the big eucalyptus tree in my garden made me think of Studio Ghibli's animated film "My Neighbor Totoro" and so I decided to build a scaled down replica of the house where the story takes place.
Shed on the beach 501 - Cabin/Summerhouse - Bournemouth #shedoftheyear
"The hut was built in the 60's designed by the late Cheshire Robins, a local Christchurch architect of note. It was built by the handyman for the local Highcliffe Sailing Club as a start hut for sailing races."
Squirrel Bar - Pub/Entertainment - Staffordshire #shedoftheyear owned by Sheddie Ian Price
During Covid lockdown we decided to insulate a 16' x 10' shed as a project and convert it into a bar. The name came about as we have squirrels visiting the garden for peanuts.
The Squirrel Bar is a very special place, both to us and our friends. The two of us spend such a lot of time relaxing in there, listening to music either on the Sonos speakers or vinyl through the vintage Heybrook HB1s. We can watch concerts on the 6 foot wide screen (it's just like being there!) or films and numerous tv channels.
