Behind the shed - A weekly email about sheds - Issue #7
Amazing Sheddies
We look back at a previous winner to inspire your friends & family to enter their shed.
This winning shed from 2012 is the Woodhenge
This was the shed when the media started to take a bigger interest and there were two different photographers there when I went to give sheddie John Plumridge the trophy.
The shed started of as a pergola, it then changed to a gazebo because i put a roof on it, the apple tree had to go to make room for the bar and the rest is now history
Like all the winners John s has improved and extended his shed since the win.

Entries for #shedoftheyear 2021
Some great new entries for this year, including
Two colourful sheds this week, one from a writer and firstly an artist.
Interesting sheds
Previous entries that are piquing sheddies interest online.
There is another twitter hashtag #PostboxSaturday that I saw and of course for every hashtag there is a shed!
A- Frame Potting shed
"A unique a-frame potting shed / garden store with dragon sculpture, and Anglo-Saxon runes, clad in cedar."
"The shed contains three separate sections:
A semi-open glazed potting area, with a large potting bench and storage for pots, compost, canes, seed trays etc.
An inner secure tool storage area with a mezzanine for additional storage.
A secure mower store."
ShedSocial
Friend of shed of the year - Author and Shedworking guru Alex posted this interesting shed for Sale, he's worth a follow not only can he write proper, he loves snooker as well as sheds amonsgt other things.
BBC research and development are doing some, what seems like jiggery-pokery in their shed but in fact it's to help people get a better radio signal.
I have gone back to Instagram after about 10 months as I was not going out and taking photos myself (due to Covid-19) hopefully looking at photos of sheds, will inspire me to take more photos again as it’s good for the soul.
What's the most terrifying/funny but when you think about it, not that unexpected thing you have found in your shed?
Extending your shed?
Sheddie "Thirsty Monkey" is extending his excellent pub shed which was first entered in 2020

Your Builds
If you are starting a shed build in your garden, could be storage, office, pub, workshop & definitely if it's a folly, then let me know as I would like to follow the progress and pass it onto the sheddies who are maybe looking to do the same.
